What is a mini-farm?
In Rabbitax structures, rabbits are born, raised and bred in specially designed compartments that provide an anti-stress environment for them to live in. In fact, most rabbits raised under comfortable conditions do not get sick, do not need veterinary care, and often do not need vaccinations or treatment. "Rabbitax" properly fulfils most of the safety functions of the entire rabbit farm. In order to ensure complete protection and natural rearing of rabbits, this equipment is designed with a multi-level security system, ensuring that the rabbits are protected from various stress factors.
Regardless of the location, whether it be an open field or an indoor facility, Rabbitax protects rabbits in most key aspects. These aspects are critical in developing, maintaining and improving the health of rabbits, boosting their immunity, ensuring healthy reproduction and achieving high economic efficiency.
While developing the equipment, the main goal was to create the most comfortable living conditions for the animals. That is why pine is used as the main material in the Rabbitax series. The high thermal insulation properties of this wood help to create a comfortable environment for rabbits to live in the structure, especially in winter. In addition, pine is an environmentally friendly natural material that is painted with water-based colors for longer service life and suitability
Thermo, wind and draught protection. The structure is blank on 5 sides and provides protection against cold winds and draughts. The rear part of the structure is placed on the predominant wind rose in a location where there is more or less constant wind, the internal microclimate of the rabbit cage is comfortable thanks to the natural wood frame and lining of the structure, neither cold nor heat is collected.
Antibacterial properties. The wood is coated with deeply permeable water-based eco paints and the type of wood used is predominantly pine, as its resin itself is antibacterial and the wood itself is the warmest material for animals to live in.
Also, rabbits will not be trapped by a snowstorm – due to protection. There is nowhere for rabbits to hide in captivity, they need to be protected from cold, humidity, and draught - all this depends on protection, and the rabbit breeder will never see the sad eyes of an animal peering out from under a night snowdrift. They will not be wet by heavy rain, and the sun will not harm the eyes - thanks to the protection. The cage will not heat up in the heat of summer, and in winter it is always much warmer, no matter how cold it is outside.
Protection against mosquitoes and flies. The Rabbitax rabbit cages are protected against mosquitoes and flies, the main vectors of viruses and diseases. Mosquitoes no longer bite and suck blood, rabbits are deprived of the stress of shaking off swarms of these parasites and live in peace, gaining weight.
Clean drinking water with essential minerals and protection against acidification is used in the watering system. In Rabbitax eco-farms, there is also disease isolation. In the case of a viral infection (caused by poor maintenance culture, non-compliance with orders, or mistakes of staff), if a problem occurs in one unit, it does not occur in another unit, as they are isolated from each other. It is this localization that prevents a pandemic and the imposition of regional quarantine. In retro rabbit farming, however, viral diseases in rabbits become a source for further spread to the whole farm.
The living spaces are protected from external rubbish due to the application of special barriers in the design. Tree fluff, poultry feathers or pet fur, various types of plants picked up by the wind, all of these are kept out of the rabbits' houses.
Protection of rabbits from predator attacks. The structure consists of living quarters, which are located on high tiers, which provides protection from predators such as foxes, weasels, rats. Also an important aspect of protecting rabbits from predators is to ensure that there are no gaps through which predators and aggressive rodents can penetrate. In addition, the design is equipped with reliable locks on the cage doors, which prevents the possibility of opening.
Protection from noise. It is important to realise that rabbit ears are much more sensitive than human ears, so even quiet noise can be very annoying to them and negatively affect their health and well-being. Industrial ventilation systems forcibly make the animal suffer from noise and constant humming, which can cause them headaches and other health problems from childhood.
The Rabbitax design pays special attention to noise reduction. A calm, quiet ventilation system helps to reduce noise levels inside the structure. Also, when choosing a location for the rabbit farm, distance from noise sources such as roads or industrial facilities is taken into account. Sometimes rabbits are placed near a barking dog, or a playful dog, which from time to time bothers rabbits with its temper, this can lead to increased anxiety and fear, which negatively affects the physiological state of the body of rabbits.
The interior of the equipment is divided into 3 tiers.
In natural rabbit equipment, there is a division into three tiers, where the first tier is for technical maintenance and the second and third tiers are the rabbit living areas. The maintenance tier is distinguished from the living areas by its functional tasks. It contains the elements necessary to ensure the proper functioning of the living areas.
The first tier
Bunker system is located directly under the living areas, collecting all the rabbits' waste products in a single tank, thus preventing the accumulation of waste in the living areas. Not a drop of urine on the ground, no stench, no fly larvae breeding. This reduces the risk of disease in rabbits and improves their health and productivity.
The bunker system consists of sheets of stainless metal sloping into a tank with a capacity of 20-40 litres. The easy tank emptying mechanism simplifies the process of cleaning and disposal of rabbit waste. To empty the tank, simply remove it from the mechanism and replace it with a new, clean one. This significantly reduces the time and effort spent on cleaning and disposal, which is especially important for large farms.
In addition, the bunker system provides protection from cold draughts from below, which allows the rabbits to feel comfortable and keep their urogenital system healthy.

It often happens that rabbit breeders do not pay enough attention to the important factor of cold air penetration into the lower part of their rabbits' living quarters. This leads to various diseases of the kidneys and other organs of the urinary system and unnecessary expenditure of the rabbit's valuable energy to fight colds.
As a result, the bunker system is not only convenient and functional but also an important component of rabbit health and welfare. It reduces labor costs and simplifies animal care, as well as increasing production efficiency.
Living tiers 2-3
The second and third-tier equipment for rabbit farming is designed not only for the comfort of the animals but also to optimize their growth and health.
Unlike traditional noisy ventilation systems used in techno-rabbit facilities, which often do not remove fecal fumes and do not provide the necessary level of air exchange, the new system from Rabbax Technology provides silent, forced removal of the fumes and targeted redirection of airflow from top to bottom.
The innovative company Rabbax Technology has pioneered the principle of airflow redirection by developing a new airflow system that delivers clean air and recycles dirty air.
The air enters through the window directly to the rabbits, then gently descends downwards, goes through the floor into the bunker compartment, and from there is removed outside without the possibility of returning. This ventilation system provides the necessary air exchange in the rabbit house, which should be 6 m³ per hour per 1 kg live weight of rabbits. The aerobic utilization of odor and harmful gases from the bunker and living tiers improves the hygiene of the air space and contributes to a comfortable living environment for the animals. This makes the rabbits less prone to disease and demonstrates significantly better health and immunity compared to rabbits kept in techno-conditions known as "smoker rabbits".
Living spaces have large wooden windows that allow plenty of sunlight to penetrate, creating a bright and pleasant atmosphere. These windows close tightly, they are free of gaps and holes, providing reliable protection against insect infiltration.
Also to ensure comfortable living conditions for rabbits, the cage is equipped with a double wooden wall, which helps to maintain a comfortable temperature inside the cage in any weather. The wooden padding does not accumulate heat and does not transmit cold, which ensures a comfortable temperature inside the cage.
In functional terms, the third tier has a similar structure to the second tier, where all components of the Rabbitax technology are used in the same way. We will look at the internal structure of the cage, more specifically at the maternity chamber and living quarters of the rabbits.
Combined wooden floors consist of 2 parts: the first one is equipped with a specially angled trapezoidal slat, the surface area of which protects rabbits' feet from pododermatitis and injuries. the second is a sanitary area for easy immediate removal of excrement.
Wooden parquet flooring has poor thermal conductivity, so it is ideal for keeping rabbits in winter, protecting them from colds of the genitourinary system and other organs of the animal. The floor area is large enough to comfortably fit six rabbits, with enough space for each rabbit to stretch out comfortably.
We would like to remind you that the rabbit has practically no muscles in the stomach. For proper functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, the animal needs to push the food into the intestines. It is only through the constant consumption of food that it pushes it further down the digestive tract, preventing stagnation. In the Rabbitax, the fodder provides auto-dispensing and uninterrupted feed supply, utilises dust harmful to the lungs, and protects the rabbit from the stress associated with a lack of feed, as feed is always available.
And the presence of vitamins, micro- and macroelements, which are absorbed from grass hay, is especially important for the good functioning of the animal's gastrointestinal system. That is why hay manger is a mandatory attribute in the "Rabbitax system".
The Rabbitax rabbit drinker is based on the circulation of clean water through PVC pipes, which are commonly used to bring water into people's homes. The direct source of water for the rabbits is the nipple drinker, which saves consumption, every drop for its intended purpose. In winter, when the temperature outside is minus, the water is heated. Warm water for rabbits provides at least plus 40% milk production and saves vital energy of rabbits, which goes to warming the body, and therefore accelerates their physiological growth and the economy of rabbit breeding. In addition, the pipes "phonate" heat, working as a kind of heating batteries, warms the rabbit area closed from 5 sides, on the open facade there is a kind of membrane, which does not allow cold winds to freely cool the housing, and as a result, even at very low sub-zero temperatures, there is excellent thermal comfort.
It should not be forgotten that a newborn rabbit has no fur, it is without a warm coat, it is warmed by its mother's milk and her fur.
The design of the nursery makes it much easier for the rabbit to care for her offspring. In particular, the specially designed heated nesting box accelerates the maturation of the rabbits by 50%. After all, the baby stops spending energy on heating its body and directs the rest of its energy to rapid growth and body strengthening. In addition, thanks to the heating system, the rabbits no longer exhaust their mother because they need to suckle less milk, thus extending the "life span" of the rabbit. In addition, we get a higher survival rate, even the weakest individuals, which were initially given a poor place in the womb, quickly catch up with the strongest ones.
Another of the most important functions of the nursery is a special nesting area with trampling protection. The rabbit is known to be a fearful creature and in conditions of great fear, e.g. during maintenance of the unit, running away to a safe place, losing control of its behavior, and may accidentally harm its babies by trampling or stepping on them. But thanks to the protected nesting site, the chances of survival of the babies are greatly increased. In general, the nursery is a powerful factor in obtaining a healthy generation of rabbits.
